Teaching has been my passion for many years. I grew up in New Mexico in the Albuquerque area. I earned my Bachelor's in anthropology from the University of New Mexico and went on to work as an Archaeologist and Park Guide for the National Park Service, learning about science from working at amazing local features like White Sands National Monument and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. I enjoyed sharing the science of the National Park sites with visitors so much that I went on the substitute teach in the off season and found out right away I wanted to teach middle school. My favorite aspects of science and engineering include researching new topics, reiterating experiments with different variables, and discovering creative solutions; as these activities apply to many areas of life and not just science. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter. Let's make this a great school year!
